There were leftover bananas from the recent prayer offerings. I like banana cakes, they are really easy to make, and the flavour is usually on point. Colleagues were singing praises of this so I guess it went really well.

Nian Gao (Sweet Glutinous Rice Cake)
It Nian Gao, or sticky rice cake, a must to have this in the house every Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year. It is a really sticky rice cake, that is supposedly supposed to make the mouths of the Gods/Deities stick together so they cannot bad mouth you in the near year. Best to line your bowl with banana leaves for the best flavour! Make this Sweet Glutinous Rice Cake anytime you like, or for new year, as a symbol of a new start!
Nasi Lemak Cookies
My colleagues had some nice savory cookies from the Cookie Museum which costs a bomb for a tiny tub. I refused to give in to the temptation to buy them, so I made them myself. Nasi Lemak Cookies, everyone!
