I've baked a gazillion items, from super easy stuff to super tough stuff, but I can't believe brownies are something I've never done before.

Pad Kra Pao, aka Thai Pork Basil Rice
I had a craving for Thai Pork Basil Rice yesterday. I love ordering this in Singapore and whenever we visited Thailand. We headed to the most authentic Thai restaurant we that was just across the river from our home for lunch yesterday but the craving was not entirely satisfied there. I wanted more of it. I'm not entirely sure if it's part of those pregnancy cravings or not, but I just had to cook it again today.
Char Kway Teow
I realised that day, it's been a good 2 months since I've had this dish. That's also how long I've been away from Singapore because I'm too far along to travel. After our Korean class (it was test day), we decided to pop by the supermarket to get some cockles for char kway teow
No Yeast, Thin Crust Beer Pizza Dough
Second try on this recipe, discovered the difference between a harder crust and a fluffier crust was the addition of baking powder.
Chocolate Swiss Roll + Coffee Custard Filling
I love a good swiss roll. But unfortunately, they don't make good swiss rolls with nice fillings where I am. It is always some jam in the middle, which is the ideal taste I have in mind. In it's place, I tried out a nice simple coffee custard filling, pretty unusual for swiss rolls, but it goes well with the chocolate swiss roll base. Pretty satisfied, taste wise, for my first attempt!
Wafu Dressing (Japanese Salad Dressing)
Following two gestational diabetes tests, and many many vials of blood drawn, we went on a Japanese food spree. What is healthier and tastier than Japanese food, especially following such a scare. The meal will always start off with an appetiser of Japanese salad with a really simple and tasty sauce. I love the taste of the sauce so since it's Japanese curry night, I thought to try it out for myself.
Kebabs
I was craving some kebabs, because it's been a long time since I had them. Couldn't find a place that serve them here. It is really easy to do, so here we go!
Mee Rebus
It occurred to me it's been some time since I last had Mee Rebus. There was sweet potato sitting in the container the whole two weeks I was away, so why not kill two birds with one stone.
Homemade Chai Poh (Preserved Sweet Radish)
Used in a variety of dishes, from fried Carrot Cake to Chai Poh Omelette, this is our favorite as kids. When I visited my grandparents' hometown in 2012, they even had preserved radish to accompany plain porridge. It was surprisingly yummy.
Tang Yuan (Glutinous Rice Balls)
Traditionally, this dish is eaten to symbolise the reunion of the family. Typically taken on the 15th day of the Chinese Lunar New Year, Lantern festival (more commonly known as mooncake festival now because of the consumption of mooncakes during this period) as well as Winter Solstice).
It is easy to make, and some would like fillings in them. I prefer them small and plain, so to taste the sweet soup better.
